I'm going to out myself as someone who listened Pink Floyd version of this song only after hearing Nighwish cover. I've been metalhead since later 1980s/beginning of 1990s, so I'm less versed in non-heavy rock music.

Never listened to this band before, not bad ! Liked the more metal parts of the song, not so keen on the pop element, but the guy has a good voice , reminded me of bad omens ,with that same kind of pop/ metal feel ,like you , I’ll listen to some more of October ends🙂

Great reaction! Ren has a diverse array of music in his discography. This song grew on me once I understood the political overtones. If you ever revisit Ren, you might enjoy his Money Game series (3 parts that do not have to be watched in one sitting), which is more storytelling. Parts 1 & 3 are live one-takes with live audio (you'll probably notice the production progression). You'll get a better understanding of Part 2 if you watch the lyric video since the live version is acapella and only a portion of the song. His hip-hop(ish) album, "Sick Boi," released recently. I hope you take a minute to watch the lyric video of the first track, "Seven Sins," even if it's just for you. I love it. That and "Illest of Our Time" are my favorites on the album. One track, "Uninvited," is a lot of fun and one of his most radio-friendly. Quite different for Ren.

Kia ora from NZ Alexander, just came across this "marathon" while cruising UA-cam. I'm on the same page with Sleep Token, hadn't even heard of them till TMBTE came out and someone went nuts over it. Initially I was a little underwhelmed by the "contrast", found it all a little jarring and disjointed. But subsequent listens have led to it digging its way into my psyche, every listen makes me appreciate just what they've done more and more. Great interpretation by you here, really enjoyed the vids, thank you :)

They're next level, like actually really next level as in nobody's doing quite what they do. There's another band though that just released a song that's absolutely solid. October Ends - Damaged. Would love to see your reaction on this one.
